Operations leader joins firm’s leadership team, expanding female representation in tech
GLENWOOD SPRINGS, CO, February 21, 2025 – Decypher Technologies, a leading provider of IT and technology solutions, has announced that Audrey Burgio has been named a partner. The appointment, officially made on February 20 during Decypher’s quarterly Town Hall meeting, reflects the company’s commitment to fostering leadership diversity in the IT industry.
Burgio, born in Florida and raised in Berthoud, Colorado, joined Decypher in 2014 without a traditional IT background. She quickly established herself as a leader, advancing from project coordinator to senior project manager and logistics lead. Now, after nearly a decade with Decypher, she steps into a leadership role where she will focus on optimizing operations, mentoring emerging talent, and helping shape the company’s long-term strategy.
Her career path highlights the value of adaptability and cross-industry expertise in the technology sector. Initially pursuing a degree in automotive technology, Burgio earned her certification from Front Range Community College in Fort Collins in 2010 after spending a year studying horticulture. She later worked in the automotive sector, selling and installing truck performance parts before transitioning into used car sales. Seeking a new challenge, she entered the IT field without prior experience but quickly made a significant impact with her problem-solving skills and operational acumen.
“I never expected to build a career in IT, but I found an environment at Decypher where growth and innovation are constant,” said Burgio. “Technology evolves rapidly, and I’m excited to contribute at a higher level—refining our processes, mentoring our team, and ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional service.”
Burgio’s promotion highlights the increasing presence of women in IT, an industry where female representation remains disproportionately low. As of 2023, women held approximately 27% of professional computing occupations in the U.S. workforce. As a partner at Decypher, Burgio will play a key role in strengthening leadership diversity within the company and the broader IT industry.
Outside of her professional achievements, Burgio is a competitive weightlifter. Since 2013, she has participated in kettlebell sport, powerlifting, CrossFit, and strongman events. She holds two American records in kettlebell sport and competed at the USS Strongman Nationals in 2024. Additionally, she authored a book on kettlebell sport and fitness basics to provide resources for the sport’s growing community.
“Audrey has been instrumental in Decypher’s growth, and her leadership has already made a lasting impact,” said Farr Shepherd, President of Decypher Technologies. “Her ability to tackle complex problems, optimize operations, and mentor her team makes her an invaluable part of Decypher’s future. We’re excited to have her as a partner.”
As a partner, Burgio will focus on streamlining Decypher’s operations, supporting staff development, and ensuring the company continues to provide high-quality IT and technology solutions to its clients across various industries.
